Augustana Hosts 'To Kneel Or Stand' Forum

Sioux Falls

A story that has been in the national spotlight for more than a year now... will take center stage at Augustana University Thursday night.

Establishing Sustainable Connections and Augustana University are hosting a panel discussion with hopes of talking about the issue and what's really behind it.

The panel will feature military members, veterans, and community members sharing their perspectives on the issue. Mark Blackburn, director of diversity at Augustana, says he thinks it will be insightful to hear from those who fought for our country.

"There was some vets calling me and sharing their insight on it and said, 'Wow this would be a great opportunity to get our whole community involved,'" Blackburn said. "And so those particular individuals see both sides of it, because they fought for our country and so that will be a good interesting aspect to listen to their opinions."

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Froiland Science Center on the Augustana University campus.
