Tuesday is national personal trainer awareness day, and it serves as one of the busiest days for trainers all year.
Kayleen Leonard has been working out with a personal trainer for the last three months and says for her, it's a necessity.
"I mean I can go run on my own that's fine, but to workout every day to this extent to this intensity, I need someone who's going to motivate me. Even when I come in here, I want to stop, and they'll push me to the point where I didn't even know I could get," Leonard said.
While she's tried going to the gym on her own, finding a solid routine and sticking with it was a struggle.
"It took me probably three months to say, 'OK, I'm going to go try it. I want to try something new. I'm not happy with how I am right now; how my body looks like,'" Leonard said.
For some, approaching a trainer can be intimidating but clients say the results you'll see will be worth it.
"I love it. It's always a new workout every time I come in. I feel like I leave exhausted, which is exactly how I want to feel," Leonard said.
Owner of Coast 2 Coast Fitness Corey Vasquez has been a personal trainer for six years and says there's a lot to be gained from having a trainer.
"It's important to have a knowledgeable trainer. Somebody who can help correct exercises, who can push you beyond your limits. Most importantly, to keep you accountable and to keep you progressing like you should be," Vazquez said.
Watching people reach their goals is the most rewarding part of his job.
"You know I like to help people whether it's in the gym or outside of the gym. Impacting lives within the gym, making the changes that people want and helping them reach their goals is extremely satisfying," Vasquez said.
