Less Snow For November, But Verdict Isn't In For December

Aside from fog Tuesday morning, quiet weather is in control for the upper plains this week. For many of us, this will end up being a below average month for snowfall. If you think this is a telltale sign of what's ahead for next month, think again.

Though foggy, it was a mild start to the day with many locations above average with morning temps in the 40s. While the clouds remained thick through the day in eastern KELOLAND, we still managed highs in the 50s. The above average temps will help keep snow chances at bay for at least the next week and a half.

Decembers that followed below average Novembers are all over the place. Since 1990, Sioux Falls has had 14 Novembers with below average snowfall. The Decembers that followed, seven were above average and seven were below average.

So history shows us there's no clear cut way December goes. One thing is for certain, Christmas is December 25th.
