A light snow shower moved through Sioux Falls earlier this morning, it was just enough to cover the ground. At the same time heavier snows continued in the Hills out west. Considering how dry it's been across KELOLAND any moisture is good, and the snow is good for my prediction.
Everyone on the list is below two inches for the season, so far. As you see Sioux Falls at 1.4, Aberdeen at 1.6, Pierre has .7, and Rapid City at 1.8. The Lead/Deadwood area is just over a foot so far. These totals are through Tuesday.
Our light snow chances will continue through Thursday before warmer temperatures this weekend will help erase whatever snow there is.
It's too early for me to get too worried about the snow numbers. As we know, there's plenty of winter to go.

We've had a couple of hits of snow, but the amounts for many have stayed light. The heaviest snows have been across the Black Hills, where they should be. But I'm off and running on my snowfall prediction numbers.
