You likely know that Valentine's Day is on Wednesday.
At least your significant other hopes you remember the holiday.
However, a growing number of women are shunning February 14 for Galentine's Day.
It's a sweet time of year at Oh My Cupcakes.
"We'll do about 10,000 cupcakes," Oh My Cupcakes Owner Melissa Johnson said.
The bakery isn't just mixing up gifts for Valentine's Day. A growing number of women are requesting cupcakes for their favorite girlfriends.
"I was filling out a card this morning. It said, 'To my BFF. I think you're awesome. Thanks so much for doing what you do and for being my forever Valentine.' How great is that," Johnson said.
Women are not just showering each other with gifts, but they're also spending time together doing things, such as painting.
"You sit across and talk and laugh and enjoy each other," Color Me Mine Owner Karen Masloski said.
Color Me Mine held its first ever Galentine's Day event in Sioux Falls.
"We're hoping to get it started and make it a yearly thing and maybe get bigger and bigger," Masloski said.
"I think as women we've come a long way in encouraging each other and building each other up. Galentine's Day is just another way to say, 'I think you're awesome. You're doing a great job,'" Johnson said.
Words of encouragement that will hopefully sprinkle a little joy in other's lives.
